Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the geotechnical design process for various projects, providing guidance and direction to the design team.
- Site Investigations: Coordinate and manage geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and testing, to analyze subsurface conditions.
- Geotechnical Analysis: Oversee advanced geotechnical analysis to assess foundation stability, slope stability, soil behavior, and other key factors that impact design decisions.
- Design Solutions: Develop and approve innovative, cost-effective geotechnical design solutions for structures such as foundations, retaining walls, tunnels, and embankments.
- Risk Management: Identify potential geotechnical risks (e.g., landslides, liquefaction, seismic activity) and develop mitigation strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all geotechnical designs meet industry standards, local building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with project managers, architects, structural engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of geotechnical designs into the overall project.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact with clients regarding geotechnical aspects of the project, addressing concerns and providing design updates.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes and review geotechnical reports, design plans, and calculations for accuracy and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on the latest trends and technologies in geotechnical engineering, promoting continuous improvement within the team.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering with a focus on design and project management.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS 2D/3D, Settle3, WALLAP .Slide, GeoStudio) and design tools.
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design principles.
- Proven leadership and project management skills with a track record of managing large, complex projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and ethical standards.
