Job Description
The Data Engineer/Applications Engineer role is a full-time professional position that works with the data science and market intelligence manager to build data pipelines, internal web applications, and market intelligence software products.
The employee also responds to ad-hoc reporting and analytics tasks for higher management, and indirectly supports customer requests through the market intelligence team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build, test, and maintain internal market intelligence software products.
- Design, create and maintain data pipelines.
- Monitor data workflows and dashboard updates.
- Facilitate external data acquisitions.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Help internal stakeholders and customers by responding to ad-hoc ETL and data analysis requests.
- Ensure data quality and integrity.

Job Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in software development or data engineering.
- Good knowledge of Java, and experience with Spring Framework.
- Good knowledge of SQL and databases.
- Knowledge of Python or willingness to learn it during work.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with data mining and APIs.
- Knowledge of dashboarding tools (preferably PowerBI).
- Experience as a Data Engineer.
- Experience with Hadoop technologies, knowledge of Apache Spark, Hive, and Oozie.
- Knowledge of version control, and experience with Git/SVN.
