Job Description
- Supervise the preparation, review, and approval of detailed fabrication, erection, and shop drawings for transmission towers and poles.
- Oversee 3D modeling and detailing using Tekla, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
- Ensure technical alignment with project specifications, international standards (IEC, ASTM, AISC, etc.) and client requirements.
- Monitor and validate fabrication data, Bill of Materials (BOM), and workshop-ready documents before release.
- Provide technical support for tendering activities, including technical data sheets and cost estimations.
- Coordinate with structural design teams to optimize tower and pole designs for fabrication efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a team of senior and junior engineers, assigning tasks and ensuring project deadlines are met.
- Conduct training and development programs to enhance the technical skills of the team.
- Supervise and review the work of detailers and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Ensure proper resource allocation across multiple projects, balancing workload efficiently.
- Implement quality control measures in technical drawings and detailing to minimize errors in fabrication.
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency in detailing workflows, reducing rework and waste.
- Work closely with the production, planning, and quality control departments to address any issues before production.
- Develop and maintain standard detailing procedures for towers and poles.
- Optimize and standardize the use of Tekla, AutoCAD, and MS Excel for detailed engineering and reporting.
- Recommend new software tools or automation to improve productivity in the detailing process.
Job Requirements
- BSc. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (required).
- Diploma or certification in Steel Structures or Project Management (preferred).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in steel detailing and fabrication (transmission towers and poles preferred).
- At least 3-5 years in a leadership role, supervising technical office engineers and detailers.
- Experience in Tekla, AutoCAD, and fabrication workflows.
- Certification in Tekla, or AutoCAD Structural Detailing (preferred).
- Training in Leadership & Team Management (advantageous).
- Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Time management and multitasking to handle multiple projects efficiently.
- Ability to present technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.
