Job Description
1. Study/ review all project documents (drawings, specifications, BOQ, tender handover documents and any related documents) to provide brief/ feedback to direct manager.
2. Prepare/ review RFI (Request for information) for any data missing or conflict within project documents.
3. Prepare/ review Requests for Quotations RFQs (Request for Quotations) to suppliers.
4. Obtain, file and study both technical and commercial quotations from suppliers to ensure it matches project requirements.
5. Prepare/ review both technical and commercial comparisons.
6. Negotiate POs’ (purchase orders) terms with subcontractors/suppliers to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms, etc.
7. Prepare and process suppliers’ letters of intent (if needed).
8. Prepare submittals for consultant’s/client’s approval in line with the selected vendor/ supplier as per the department standards.
9. Receive PR (Purchase request) of the approved materials through ERP System.
10. Prepare and process PO (purchase orders) or subcontracts to the approved vendor/ supplier.
11. Follow up with procurement specialist in releasing the payments and the logistical procedures.
12. Assist in following up of order/ contract management that includes manufacturing, testing, delivery... etc.
13. Collect and prepare project close out documents from project related suppliers
14. Work with other team members to accomplish objectives and the department KPI’s.
15. Attend meetings, conferences, conventions and seminars necessary to network with others involved in the procurement process (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to improve the Procurement Department function and effectiveness.
16. Perform other assignments as necessary to support the function/department.
17. Help and Guide Procurement Engineers in finalizing their tasks effectively & efficiently in order to accomplish objectives and the department KPI’s.
18. Evaluate subordinates & update their performance to Team Leader/ section head.
19. Follow-up all of the above responsibilities in conjunction with direct manager.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree of Electrical Engineering.
2. 6-10 years of experience in MEP Construction field.
3. Market knowledge in sourcing of materials and services.
4. Solid knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, PDF, Excel and PowerPoint) is a must
5. Solid knowledge of Oracle and SAP, highly preferable.
6. Ability to handle several projects while meeting deadlines.
7. Leadership skills is a must.
