Job Description
- Generate air or ocean bills of lading and supporting export documentation to insure freight can be exported.
- Contact trucking companies to arrange for the pickup of customers' freight.
- Receive freight in the warehouse and perform safety checks. Label freight for export.
- Contact air and ocean carriers to book export shipments. Close consolidations.
- Review procedures and implement safety regulations as developed by the Head Office.
- •Arrange for import documentation pickup at the airlines. Review immediate Transport documents for Customs.
- Contact outside Customs Brokers to coordinate that import freight is cleared in a timely manner and import customers to relay arrival information.
- Correspond with the Company and other overseas agents. Set up and maintain customer files.
- Provide the customer with quotations when the sales staff is not present. Provide the sales staff with market research and generate proposals for the sales staff.
- Assist sales staff with correspondence, faxes, etc. Contact present customers who have not shipped regularly to determine shipping status. Conduct telephone sales to prospective customers.
- Assist with the collection of customer accounts. Update airline rates for sales department files.
- Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction, provide flight details, maintain and review letters of credit and resolve any complaints.
- Develop strategic policies and programs for corporate travel
- Handle and oversee all travel arrangements (air, lodgings etc.) and operations
- Manage relationships with travel agencies and vendors
- Negotiate contracts or rates with travel service providers
- Provide advise on travel documents, insurance, import/export regulations etc.
- Handle credit card programs and charges
- Process T&E reports and handle reimbursements
- Ensure compliance in all aspects of travel procedures
- Drive continuous improvement of travel programs
Job Requirements
- 5:6 years of Import/Export experience in a manufacturing or trading environment.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of Customs Rules and Regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to travel
- Proficiency in English
- MS Office
