Job Description
To ensure that each member of the housekeeping team understands the organization’s cleaning procedure; especially new employees has overall responsibility for cleaning rooms, laundering bed linen, and maintaining furnishings and other equipment.
- He/she is detailed to maintain housekeeping equipment in a good working state and to determine the highest standards of clothing for members of staff.
- Entails motivating, training, and retraining of members of staff under him/her.
- He/she is responsible for addressing complaints of members of staff on situations preventing or inhibiting their utmost performance.
- He/she is responsible for addressing complaints of guests in regards to housekeeping services and ensures zero complaints.
- His/her work description also involves recognizing all areas that need to be cleaned and assigning such areas to specific members of staff.
- Are detailed to ensure housekeeping supplies and equipment are always available when they are needed.
- Responsible for taking regular inventory of housekeeping supplies.
- Assign duties to members of staff.
- Inspect the environment within the organization to ensure it meets the minimum best practice throughout the organization.
- Developing standards for prospective members of his department and the highest standards for rating the work.
- Attending to customers’ complaints and ensure that the complaints are addressed efficiently and effectively.
- Stand-in for any member of staff that is unavailable to carry out their duties in order to prevent any unfilled gap.
- Responsible for ensuring dirty laundry are timelessly and appropriately cleaned.
- Preparing supplies orders for the housekeeping department.
- Ensure efficient use of departmental resources.
- Direct all housekeeping activities.
- Maintain good relationships with customers and/or clients and suppliers of housekeeping items.
- Raising any maintenance orders in a timely manner.
- The ability to think critically over housekeeping issues and proffer cost-effective solutions.

- Previous Hotel experience desired.
- Successful previous experience as housekeeping Assistant / Manager, consistently meeting standards.

- Proven ability to drive the housekeeping process to the highest standards.
- Strong business sense and industry expertise.
- Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
- Work experience as a housekeeping manager may be considered in lieu of appropriate certification.
- Ability to follow instructions, Detail-oriented, Professional attitude is required.
- Ability to work independently, paying attention to details.
- Proficiency in spoken and written business English.
- Personable, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
