Hedge Fund Trade Operations Associate The Hedge Fund Trade Operations Associate is responsible for providing middle office services within the firm in a fast-paced environment, and communicating with portfolio managers, traders, brokers, and other interested parties, in order to confirm and settle trades on time, while completing daily deliverables, and fulfilling other trading and operational tasks.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Trading, Fund Accounting, Technology, and Risk teams with managing all trade lifecycle events for an array of asset classes including equity products, exchange traded derivatives, OTC derivatives, FX, and fixed income productsAssist with trade bookings, corporate action processing, support on P&L inquiries, and daily reconciliationsProcess trade allocations, affirmations, settlements, options exercise/assignments, and related tasksMonitor third-party platforms like Markitwire, ICE, prime broker portals, and administrator systems for trade management Work with the Reconciliation and Control teams to ensure the accuracy of internal books and recordsIdentify process gaps, work with internal and external resources to create detailed requirements to solve issuesGrasp big picture objectives to help senior management streamline workflows and minimize operational riskDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;Perform adequate due diligence to completely resolve all issues, in a timely manner, in order to avoid any financial or reputational impact;Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices to further develop effective operational policies and procedures;Performing other duties as may be requested by senior management.Qualifications:Undergraduate degree; preferably with a concentration in finance, economics, or related disciplineSeveral years of relevant work experience.General knowledge of and familiarity with financial instruments (i.e. equities, fixed income, options, swaps, futures, foreign exchange) within both domestic and global securities marketsSelf-starter with excellent analytical and problem solving skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to efficiently prioritize daily processes, ad-hoc requests, and any issues escalated by internal and external partiesIntermediate or higher Excel proficiencyAbility to communicate professionally and effectively with both internal and external stakeholdersHigh level of computer literacy, and capability to learn new systems quicklyAbility to work both independently and within a team
