Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale construction projects.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities and tender documents.
- Evaluate and negotiate contractor/subcontractor tenders and contracts.
- Monitor project costs and progress, and report on profitability, variations, and value engineering.
- Assess and certify interim and final payments to contractors and subcontractors.
- Review, prepare, and negotiate claims, variations, and change orders.
- Ensure all project financial records are maintained accurately and up-to-date.
- Advise the project team on contractual and commercial matters.
- Lead contract administration including conditions of contract, bonds, warranties, and insurances.
- Support procurement strategies and negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate quantity surveyors.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial issues.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, contract requirements, and company procedures.
Job Requirements
- Strong understanding of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in cost management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Develop and monitor project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze cost variations and provide cost-saving recommendations.
- Track expenses, commitments, and project financials.
- Generate cost reports and dashboards for management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel – Power Bi).
- Familiarity with measurement software such as AutoCAD & Revit.
