Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale construction projects.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities and tender documents.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contractor/subcontractor tenders and contracts.
  • Monitor project costs and progress, and report on profitability, variations, and value engineering.
  • Assess and certify interim and final payments to contractors and subcontractors.
  • Review, prepare, and negotiate claims, variations, and change orders.
  • Ensure all project financial records are maintained accurately and up-to-date.
  • Advise the project team on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Lead contract administration including conditions of contract, bonds, warranties, and insurances.
  • Support procurement strategies and negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate quantity surveyors.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, contract requirements, and company procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Strong understanding of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in cost management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze cost variations and provide cost-saving recommendations.
  • Track expenses, commitments, and project financials.
  • Generate cost reports and dashboards for management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel – Power Bi).
  • Familiarity with measurement software such as AutoCAD & Revit.
