Air Freight Coordinator

This is a full-time Air Freight Coordinator at EGXPRESS Licensee of Federal Express.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the transportation of airfreight shipments from origin to destination.
• Schedule flights and arrange space with airlines or freight forwarders.
• Ensure timely pickup and delivery of cargo by customer requirements.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents such as air waybills, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with customs regulations and international trade requirements.
• Maintain organized records of all documentation related to airfreight shipments.
• Ensure that all shipments comply with customs regulations and requirements of both the origin and destination countries.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate clearance procedures.
• Resolve any issues related to customs documentation or clearance delays.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding their airfreight shipments.
• Provide timely updates on shipment status, transit times, and delivery schedules.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• Utilize tracking systems to monitor the movement of airfreight shipments.
• Proactively identify any delays or issues and take appropriate action to minimize disruptions.
• Provide real-time updates to customers and internal stakeholders on the status of shipments.
• Liaise with airlines, ground handlers, customs brokers, and other service providers involved in the airfreight process.
• Negotiate rates and service agreements to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation services.
• Monitor vendor performance and address any service quality issues or concerns.
• Identify potential risks and challenges in airfreight operations and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security regulations to protect the integrity of shipments.
• Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen events or emergencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transit times, and shipment volumes.
• Present findings and recommendations to management for strategic planning and decision-making.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to airfreight logistics.
