Job Description

Job Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) in a consultation firm is responsible for overseeing the organization’s daily operations, ensuring that the firm's services are delivered efficiently and effectively while aligning with the company’s strategic goals. The COO works closely with the CEO and other executives to drive growth, improve operational processes, and maintain high standards of service delivery.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement the firm's strategic goals.
  • Translate the company's vision into operational plans and ensure their successful execution.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm, including client engagements, project delivery, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure operational excellence by streamlining processes and implementing best practices.

Client and Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Address client concerns and ensure services are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage department heads and teams across various functions.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Financial Oversight:

  • Work with the CFO to develop budgets, monitor financial performance, and manage operational costs.
  • Ensure profitability and sustainability of the firm's operations.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Establish performance metrics to measure the success of operations and projects.
  • Regularly report operational progress and challenges to the CEO and board of directors.

Business Development Support:

  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities and expanding the firm's client base.
  • Support marketing and sales strategies to promote the firm's services.
     

Job Requirements

Required Experience and Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (required).
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree (preferred).

Professional Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in operational leadership roles, preferably within a consultation firm or professional services industry.
  • Proven track record in managing large teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies and process improvements.
  • Real Estate Background (Preferred)

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of business functions, including finance, HR, and client service delivery.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and drive change effectively.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of industry-specific tools, technologies, or methodologies (e.g., CRM, project management software).
  • Experience working with international clients is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel if needed.
