Job Description
Administrative
- Coordinate with Training coordinator when assigning new classes to trainers and classrooms to ensure maximum utilization of trainer and classroom vacant slots.
- Occasional responsibility for day-to-day office operational tasks.
- Conducts assessments, needs analysis, and orientations with students.
Academic:
- Supervise the successful implementation of the training process in accordance with Alternative Education’s vision, procedures and guidelines by training and supervising staff and through constant follow-up on classroom activities, material used, student satisfaction and by tracking students’ and trainers’ performances.
- Plan with trainers for instructional needs for each class.
- Supervise the trainers in the creation of class action plans.
- Constantly follow-up on classes to ensure the implementation of a successful classroom experience in terms of usefulness, motivation and learner-centeredness.
- Supervise trainers in material preparation and ensure their interconnection with class demands.
- Analyze trainer and student performances and behavior towards language education by following up on student performance reports and trainer evaluation.
- Meet with students whenever necessary to track complaints and provide academic advice.
- Provide guidance and support to trainers to improve their skills and knowledge of language instruction.
- Provide constant training for the staff to extend their awareness of Alternative Education’s teaching methodologies, classroom approaches, use of new technology and policies.
- Plan events and programs related to language teaching and learning.
- Ensure timely application of training procedures such as mid-way evaluation and final assessment.
Job Requirements
Contacts:
- Work daily with students, trainers, and staff members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- 5 years at least of experience as an educational training support/admin or similar role
- Knowledge of language pedagogy, including second language acquisition.
- Familiarity with the national discussion about language centers and instructional technology.
- Knowledge of Alternative Education TESL standards.
- CEFR level assessments and other multiple measures.
- ESL theory skills and teaching methods.
- Knowledge of language acquisition and linguistics.
- Effective instructional strategies and techniques.
- Skills in learning theory, study habits, time management systems, test-taking strategies, critical thinking theory. -Interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills, and a service orientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Collaborative style, especially suited to work with trainers.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of a culture-related, selective, liberal arts environment.
