Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Application Support Team Lead to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, Linux/Unix, and Python, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in application support. This role requires someone who is responsible for the administration, disaster recovery, logging solutions, and DevOps practices within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of application support specialists, ensuring high performance and productivity.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Application Support:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the application support team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
- Manage and troubleshoot complex application-related problems, providing expert-level support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain robust application monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- System Administration:
- Administer and maintain Linux/Unix servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and configuration changes to ensure security and compliance.
- Database Management:
- Utilize SQL for database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure data integrity and availability, implementing best practices for backup and disaster recovery.
- Disaster Recovery:
- Develop, implement, and manage disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity.
- Conduct regular disaster recovery tests and simulations to validate the effectiveness of recovery strategies.
- DevOps Integration:
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to streamline deployment processes and automate workflows.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and efficient software releases.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance application support operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously evolve the support infrastructure.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application support, with a strong focus on SQL, Linux/Unix, and Python.
- Proven experience in system administration and database management.
- Solid understanding of disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Experience with logging solutions and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Linux/Unix administration or SQL database management.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
