Job Description
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Issuing and receiving cash
- Maintaining the Chart of Accounts; ensuring adequate and proper classification among accounts’ groups.
- Ensure reconciliation of inter-company accounts and rectification of reconciling items.
- Ensure that all the financial transactions are properly accounted for in the General Ledger and the correct cost and profit centers.
- Handling intercompany cost allocations.
- Maintaining accurate revenue and cost recognition databases.
- Ensure all month-end entries are passed in the system like pre-payments, accruals, etc.
- Monitoring bookings of tax entries, especially VAT accounting.
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
- Assist in preparing financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns
- Support month-end and year-end close process
Job Requirements
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
- 3-5 years of experience in development or real estate is a must
- Proven experience as accountant GL
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Accounting Principles
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Relevant certification (e.g. IFRS diploma, Accounting diploma, CMA, ..etc) will be preferred
- Construction background
