About the Job

The MEP Manager is fully responsible for managing all Cairo Festival City (CFC) MEP contracts under CFC - City Management scope which include indicating scope of work (SOW), key performance indicator (KPI) & service level agreement (SLA). Manage City Management MEP yearly budget, projects cost & cost saving. Apply HSE & quality audit rules within the projects. Lead MEP staff, apply physical asset management principles.

The MEP Manager is responsible for a team of Engineers / Supervisors. The The MEP Manager typically operates on one or multiple projects and is responsible for all activities (internal and external) on the project. In this capacity, the MEP Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Project Engineering & Execution activities in line with the project goals.

  • Lead, direct and manage CFC service providers to enhance the performance & reach high level of service quality.
  • Prepare yearly budget & cost summary for all MEP works under City Management scope.
  • Enhancement and development of CFC existing assets for cost reduction & quality improvement.
  • Manage inspections at site for final handing over of MEP Systems according to the proper handover procedures.
  • Manage the operation & maintenance of CFC MEP works with prevailing standards/quality systems in most efficient, timely and cost effective manner.
  • Managing the operation & maintenance for MEP works at CFC stations which include:
  1. District Cooling Plant (DCP)
  2. Sewage Pump Station (SPS)
  3. Water Pump Station (WPS)
  4. Irrigation Pump Station (IPS)
  5. Electrical Substation (ESS)
  • Managing the operation & maintenance work for CFC MEP infrastructure works which include:
  1. Chilled Water Network
  2. Domestic Water Network
  3. Irrigation & Firefighting Network
  4. Sewage Network
  5. Rain Water Network
  6. Street Lighting
  7. Landscape Lighting
  8. LV Network
  9. MV Network
  10. CFC stores
  11. Oriana area including Villas, Lake & Fountains
  12. CFC Fountains
  • Managing the operation & maintenance for MEP works at CFC buildings which include:
  1. FLA
  2. Business Park buildings (A, B,C,D,……
  3. FM Building.
  4. CFC Site Offices.

The MEP Manager will report to the General Manager, however, channels exists for direct communication with the Managing Director and other member from the senior leadership team at weekly meetings or as and when required.

Job Requirements
  • To be a successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in engineering specialised in mechanical / electrical. Masters in Business Administration is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7+ years relevant experience in a MEP environment. Typically, has managed multiple MEP projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in Pre-Contract designing & Post-Contract construct phase of the project.
  • Focussed on Facility Management, Property Management and Asset Management.
  • Experience with government authorities & regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP Systems (all aspects - design, function, installations, testing & commissioning and coordination with other trades, operations and maintenance).
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling / planning and tracking of progress. Knowledge of risk assessment and contingency planning.
  • Awareness / exposure on various system methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple project sites.
  • Good knowledge of HSE requirements for electrical & mechanical systems operation & maintenance.
  • Must be well familiar with computer applications and capable of generating & presenting maintenance reports. Good knowledge in project planning, project management, cost management and FIDIC contract clauses.
  • Possess knowledge of project development and/or project management software (i.e. Pro Design – Amtech, DIALux, AutoCAD / Revit, MS Project / Primavera).
  • Strong written contractual communication skills.
  • The MEP Manager will have to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities, be customer focused and be able to handle multiple and often conflicting priorities.
  • It is essential the incumbent should have excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment. Have the ability to look at situations from several points of view. Delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent problem analytical skills and problem simulation.
  • Should have a high comfort level working in a diverse environment.
