Job Description
- Support enterprise solutions using AIX 6 and 7 for enterprise applications and related databases.
- Work closely with peer teams to deliver high availability and optimum performance for customers.
- Design, install, integrate, implement and support multiple varieties of AIX solutions.
- Perform advanced duties related to AIX virtualization, Storage and high availability.
- Perform server performance tuning, including monitoring servers and taking corrective action to maximize server uptime.
- Provide server security with respect to implementing security measures and designs.
- Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues and root cause analysis.
- Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Develop and support routine operational activities with automation.
- Implementing and supporting Systems Storage solutions .
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Engineering/computer science.
- 5+ years of working experience in AIX Operating System in an enterprise environment.
- Advanced knowledge of IBM VIO, IBM POWERHA.
- Proven experience working with virtualized platforms including LPARs on the P7 and P8 processor architectures.
- Understanding of security standards including a working knowledge of SSH (Secured Shell).
- Experience in implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery options.
- Exposure to enterprise storage SAN (Storage Area Network) architectures.
- Understanding of backup process, system monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and scripting for AIX / VIO (Virtual Input/Output).
- Working Good knowledge in Shell scripting to automate procedures and workflows.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in dynamic environments.
- Team player and good troubleshooting skills.
- Good inter-personal and communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills desired.
