Job Description

Position: Mechanical/Piping Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth experience with:
    • Piping systems
    • Pipelines
    • Pressure vessels
    • Storage tanks
    • Pumps and compressors
  • Proficient in applying international codes and standards:
    • ASME
    • ANSI
    • API

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed mechanical engineering designs and documentation.
  • Develop mechanical specifications and technical datasheets.
  • Participate in:
    • Tender document preparation
    • Bid evaluations
    • Contractor/supplier assessments
  • Produce technical reports and make presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Familiarity with industry-standard engineering software used in the oil and gas sector.
  • Hands-on or operational experience with GOSP (Gas-Oil Separation Plants) or similar facilities.

 

Position: Process Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Solid background in the oil and gas industry, preferably through EPC consulting/design firms or oil/gas operating companies.

Technical Expertise:

  • Full lifecycle engineering from conceptual design to detailed design.
  • Strong command of process simulation software such as:
    • Aspen HYSYS
    • Pipe flow simulation programs
  • Thorough knowledge of industry codes and standards including:
    • ASME
    • API
    • NACE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Perform process simulations, calculations, and equipment sizing.
  • Design and specification of:
    • Pipelines and utilities
    • Control systems
    • Process equipment
  • Evaluate and finalize vendor packages.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, budget estimations, and bid preparation/evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance through mechanical/control system reviews.

Specialized Facility Experience:

  • Design and operation of production surface facilities such as:
    • Gas-Oil Separation Plants (GOSP)
    • Liquid Recovery Plants (LRP)
    • Glycol Dehydration Systems
    • Refrigeration and Fractionation Units
    • Compression Systems
    • Crude Topping Plants
    • Utility Systems (e.g., fuel gas, diesel for power generators)
  • Field experience with:
    • Startup coordination and commissioning (skid-mounted and field-installed systems)
    • Troubleshooting and plant operational support
    • Construction coordination and project management

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Production Separator
  • Gas Dehydrator/Regenerator
  • Oil Treater
  • Electrostatic Oil Dehydrator
  • Stabilizer, De-Propanizer

Position: Rotating Equipment Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in:
    • Mechanical design of rotating equipment components.
    • Hydraulic flow design in piping systems and vessels.
    • Process handling functions of rotating machinery.
  • In-depth understanding of industry codes and standards:
    • ASME
    • ANSI
    • API

Rotating Equipment Coverage:

  • Pumps
  • Compressors
  • Power turbines
  • Other associated rotating machinery used in oil and gas operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering design of rotating equipment and associated systems.
  • Develop and prepare:
    • Mechanical specifications
    • Tender documents
    • Bid evaluations
  • Conduct and support:
    • Startup and commissioning of rotating equipment.
    • Maintenance planning and execution
    • Troubleshooting and failure analysis

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to handle vendor coordination, technical reviews, and equipment selection.
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment integration into process systems within oil and gas facilities.

 

Position: Electrical Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Must be a registered member in good standing with a recognized Professional Engineering Association.
  • Experience must have been gained through:
    • Consulting engineering firms specializing in petrochemical or oil & gas industries, or
    • Operating companies within the same industries.

Technical Expertise:

  • Capable of detailed electrical engineering and design, sufficient for others to complete drafting.
  • Detailed design experience must include, but is not limited to:
    • Area Classification
    • Single Line Diagrams
    • Electrical Layouts (all categories)
    • Raceway Systems (all categories)
    • Ladder-type Schematics
    • Interconnection Diagrams
    • Schedules (cable, lighting, panel, terminations, etc.)

Code & Standards Proficiency:

  • Fully conversant with industry codes and standards such as:
    • NEC
    • ANSI
    • IEEE
    • UL
    • CSA
    • NFPA
    • Familiarity with North American engineering practices, equipment, and materials.

Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Development of:
    • Equipment and material specifications for power distribution systems.
    • Purchase requisitions and subsequent bid evaluations.
  • Conduct special studies, including:
    • Short-circuit analysis
    • Relay coordination
    • Load flow studies (if applicable)

Project Involvement:

  • Capable of handling conceptual engineering and design execution efficiently.
  • Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables (critical requirement).
  • Involved in commissioning and plant start-up procedures for electrical systems.

Professional Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong ability to document and justify engineering decisions through structured calculations.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-cultural team environment.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and can operate with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written).
  • Computer literate with strong typing and documentation skills.

 

Position: Senior Corrosion Engineer (Cathodic Protection)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • NACE CP Level III certification (preferred or equivalent recognized qualification).

Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Corrosion mechanisms
    • Cathodic protection systems (design, construction, maintenance)
  • Full understanding of international standards related to corrosion prevention and mitigation (e.g., NACE, ISO, API, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, installation, and troubleshooting of:
    • Impressed current and sacrificial anode systems
    • Underground pipelines, storage tanks, and marine structures
  • Prepare:
    • Technical reports, design documentation, and maintenance strategies
    • Budgets and project plans for submission to management
  • Provide recommendations to enhance corrosion prevention and extend asset life.
  • Manage and coordinate:
    • Corrosion protection projects in the capacity of a Project Engineer
    • Contractor activities and compliance during construction/installation phases

Position: Corrosion Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or Corrosion Engineering from a recognized university.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Corrosion control techniques
    • Cathodic protection systems
  • Familiarity with international standards and industry practices (e.g., NACE, API, ISO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execution, and troubleshooting of:
    • Cathodic protection systems (impressed current and galvanic)
  • Develop:
    • Inspection and maintenance plans
    • Technical recommendations to mitigate corrosion-related issues
  • Support construction and operations teams with:
    • Installation oversight
    • Field evaluations
    • System optimization efforts

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of:
    • 15 years of relevant experience for Senior Engineer roles.
    • 10 years of relevant experience for Engineer level roles.
  • Strong background in the oil and gas industry.
