Job Description
- Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure accurate product costing.
- Prepare and review cost reports, variance analyses, and profitability studies to support management decision-making.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and inventory teams to track and reconcile inventory movements and cost allocations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard costing systems and update cost standards as needed.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities related to cost accounting and inventory valuation.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing detailed cost analysis and projections.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits related to cost accounting.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff or cross-functional teams on cost accounting principles and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of proven experience in cost accounting.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and standard costing systems.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver accurate reports.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
