Job Description
- The primary function of the QC Analyst job is to perform chemical and physical testing on incoming herbs and finished product to ensure conformity to quality standards.
- This position also serves as a backup for the microbiology lab and chromatography lab.
- Perform chemical and physical tests on incoming herbs, such as moisture, ash, acid-insoluble ash, extractable matter, and volatile oil.
- Perform identity testing using high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) on incoming herbs and finished product.
- Report test results and compare to established specifications and control limits.
- Fill in for microbiology lab as needed – reading and setting plates, sample prep, and reporting results.
- Participate in out-of-specification investigations and report non-conformances to Lab Supervisor.
- Edit and update quality-related forms and documentation (e.g., SOP’s, specifications).
- Stay current with published monographs to ensure compliance Special projects
- Gather and interpret data, generate reports.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems in the lab.
- Maintain lab cleanliness and safety standards.
- Performing any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.
Job Requirements
- Experience in herbs at least 2 years
- Bachelor degree of Agriculture
