Internship Description
Start Date: August 15th (10-week program)
As a member of the Data Engineering team, you will design and build data pipelines and implement innovative analytical solutions using Scala and Spark. You will work alongside the big data engineering team, evaluating new features and architecture. Reporting to the Data & AI Manager, Data Platform, you will work closely with other team members like data architects and business analysts to understand what the business is trying to achieve, move data from source to target, and design optimal data models. You will be also responsible for building and maintaining the data platform. This is the perfect opportunity to build hands-on experience and learn best practices of data processing on a modern Data Lake solution.
The Role
- Streamline the intake of the raw data into our Data lake.
- Build Enterprise data solutions using cloudera and Azure Tech stack
- Build and scale data infrastructure that powers batch and real-time data processing
- Write advanced / complex SQL with performance tuning and optimization
- Identify ways to improve data reliability, data integrity, system efficiency and quality
- Perform production support and deployment activities
- Lead or assist on projects using a hands-on approach
- Develop, grow, and have fun!
Internship Requirements
Who You Are
- Finished or currently working on completion of Bachelor’s degree in related field and is currently a rising Senior, graduating by Summer 2023.
- Attention to detail is a must
- Organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with quantitative or qualitative data analysis is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Have an interest in learning how to be a more inclusive leader and ally.
- Demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by involvement in organizations, community involvement, sports, and other activities.
