Job Description

Job Purpose

The role of a Product Owner at WebBeds is to work closely with the Chief Product Owner and their delivery team stakeholders to understand the issues faced by the business and curate solutions based on the required outcome. Through close collaboration with business stakeholders and Product Leadership, they will prioritise development based on the Product Vision, stakeholder targets, market forces and/or regulatory requirements.    Based on their knowledge of the overall vision and end goals they will maximise the value of the products created by their product delivery team, collaborate with other teams and when necessary adapt the details of sprints and iterations to ensure agreed goals are achieved. 

Key Responsibilities 

The responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Develop the product road map and shape the vision for the products belonging to the Line of Business
  • Work closely with Chief Product Owner and Product Owners to align products and product backlog with the overall WebBeds Product Vision.
  • Champion my WebBeds Products
  • Maintain a prioritised product backlog based on User Story Maps and User stories
  • Challenge stakeholder objectives in search of higher-level goals/hidden motivation, distinguishing between ‘wants’ and ‘needs’ and establishing the business value of each request
  • Understand and maximise value of products delivered
  • Represent the "voice of the customer" in collaboration with the delivery team and ensure everyone is aware of what we need and why
  • Turn ideas into Minimum Viable Products, and release incrementally
  • Participate in team's meetings and agile ceremonies to follow the progress and ensure what is delivered meets the business needs
  • Create supporting documents for new functionality/processes and spread information about deliveries and progress on new products to the wider organisation
  • Establish and report on KPIs to measure product uptake and value delivered through data analysis and user feedback
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with people from across the business, ensuring shared understanding and expectations of the business needs, drivers and challenges
  • Collaborate with and share feedback with your product delivery team to improve processes
  • Explore new opportunities and ideas to help understand value proposition, scope of work and feasibility to implement
  • Continually learn agile best practices and the latest technology that can be used for products
