Job Summary:
The Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing and reviewing electrical drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination layouts for all electrical systems in accordance with project specifications and engineering standards. The role includes close coordination with design engineers, site engineers, and other technical departments to ensure accurate implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare electrical shop drawings (lighting, power, low current, etc.) based on design and site requirements.
- Modify and update as-built drawings as per site execution and red-line drawings.
- Perform coordination drawings with other disciplines (MEP & Civil).
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and consultant requirements.
- Participate in drawing submittals and revisions as per consultant feedback.
- Assist in reviewing and interpreting design drawings and documents.
- Maintain a drawing register and ensure proper archiving and documentation.
- Coordinate with site engineers to reflect accurate execution in drawings.
- Prepare material take-offs and support in quantity surveying as needed.
- Utilize AutoCAD and other drafting software efficiently.
- Support the electrical technical office team in technical submissions (material submittals, method statements, etc.).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Drafting.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical drafting, preferably in a construction or contracting company.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, knowledge of Revit MEP or BIM is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (lighting, power, LV/MV, fire alarm, BMS, etc.).
- Familiar with international codes and standards (NEC, IEC, etc.).
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
