Job Title: Database Administrator (SQL & Mongo) Job Type: Full-Time Department: IT Department
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) specializing in MSSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Oracle to design, implement, and maintain robust database systems across various environments. The ideal candidate will optimize database performance, ensure data integrity, and implement effective security measures to safeguard critical data assets. This role requires a proactive approach to database management, focusing on high availability, disaster recovery, and efficient resource utilization to support business objectives. Candidates should be familiar with both SQL and NoSQL database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Database Design & Implementation:
o Design, implement, and maintain database architectures primarily in MSSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Oracle.
o Create and optimize database schemas, tables, and indexes for efficient data retrieval and storage.
· Performance Optimization:
o Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to optimize efficiency and responsiveness across all database platforms.
o Implement tuning strategies to improve query performance and reduce latency.
· Data Integrity & Security:
o Ensure data integrity through regular backups, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
o Implement security measures to protect sensitive data, including user access controls and data encryption.
· Database Maintenance:
o Conduct regular database maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and performance assessments.
o Automate routine database maintenance tasks to improve efficiency.
· Collaboration & Support:
o Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet application requirements.
o Provide support and guidance to other teams on database-related issues and best practices.
· Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes.
o Prepare and present reports on database performance, utilization, and security status to management.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
· Experience:
o Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong focus on MSSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Oracle.
o Experience with additional database platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
· Skills:
o Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience in database scripting and programming.
o Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies.
o Familiarity with cloud database solutions and deployment (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is an advantage.
o Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Soft Skills:
o Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
o Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
