Job Description
- Directs the Accounting operations at the Plant. This includes 1) Financial analysis, 2) recommending and implementing financial strategies to optimize the utilization of Manufacturing resources, 3) designing, implementing and maintaining Standard Costing systems, 4) the review of actual results versus established benchmarks, commenting on significant variances, 5) evaluation of data with reference to Business Unit/Plant/objectives and 6) coordination of monthly financial closings.
- Manages the Plant budgeting process to include forecasts, production plan, shipments, labor loads, cost reduction programs, capital investments, etc., and presentation. Assesses and highlights financial risk associated with such business plan.
- Supervises a small staff of accounting professionals. Delegates and ensures understanding of job duties and responsibilities. Provides a motivating, engaging work environment and information on relevant matters including business objectives, company policies and procedures. Measures and appraises performance and provides accurate feedback. Recommends/approves salary actions/career development. Assists employees in skills/career development. Approves expenses, monitors absences and vacations.
- Responsible for the development, review, and analysis of standard costs for all new products and product line extensions, including the annual standard update, development of labor and overhead rates, and the qualification of year to year financial impact of changes. Controls data base and ensures the integrity of the cost accounting systems, as well as, the General Ledger, as it relates to the Mentor Manufacturing facilities. Provides for the analysis and evaluation of cost data, cost estimates and cost reduction programs. Identifies financial benefits related to new product requests and makes recommendations to management.
- Responsible for the coordination of the Physical Inventory and/ or cycle counts encompassing all stock at the plants. Ensures proper staffing levels for counting, audits, data entry; trains counters and auditors in responsibilities; assures accurate valuation and recording of results. Manages monthly inventory reporting, balancing of perpetuals to the G/L, and analysis of such including levels/types of inventory at risk, consignments, etc.
- Investigates, reviews and analyzes the accounting flow, controls and procedures highlighting problem areas and developing improvements. Develops and implements corrective action as required. Responsible for maintaining Sarbanes Oxley compliance documentation for the Manufacturing facilities.
- Reviews and approves Manufacturing Capital Authorization Requests providing the required Financial analysis where appropriate. Reviews and approves Post Completion audits conducted by staff on major capital projects.
- Using the value added analysis in the above responsibilities, influences the company's goal with respect to long term manufacturing strategies.
- Assists senior management both at the site and Corp. HQ. on special projects.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a financial accounting role, with proven experience in factory or manufacturing .
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Certificates (CPA 、charted accountant 、ACCA ) is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo ,or similar).
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
