In order to strengthen our team at Guardian Egypt, we are looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager reporting to the Plant Manager
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Develop knowledge, use and advance our Principled Based Management culture.
- To drive EHS excellence within the organization in alignment with global EHS team.
- To lead and develop the EHS team at site (EH&S Engineer and Technicians) and be the primary point of contact for the plant for EH& matters.
- Build effective working relationships with the operational teams to develop EHS capability at the plant.
- Develop the systems and knowledge around risk analysis including the assessment of environmental risks and the development of appropriate safety/environmental strategies to focus the team on avoidance or mitigation of critical risks.
- Planning, implementation, monitoring and optimization of operational processes in the areas of environmental management, health and safety with the aim of supporting the leadership team to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensuring cost-effective implementation of strategic EH&S-targets to ensure maximum safety for all employees and implementation of sustainability projects.
- Responsibility for compliance with and implementation of EH&S-processes and guidelines, taking into account current legislation.
- Developing a suitable KPI system in alignment with global/regional priorities and control the budget for EH&S projects.
- Organization and management of internal and external EH&S audits.
- Lead the investigation and reporting of EH&S incidents to develop systems and capability of employees to prevent further incidents.
- Coordinate with customers and suppliers to ensure EH&S standards.
- Being the contact person for the assessment of environmental risks, the development of environmental strategies and the implementation of sustainability projects.
- Regular reporting, advising, and coaching of the plant leadership team on all EH&S-relevant issues to ensure the company's competitiveness.
- Support Operations with the creation and implementation of training measures for employees and corresponding EH&S guidelines for managers.
Job Requirements
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or environmental. Nebosh IGC would be an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the environmental, health and safety of a manufacturing unit, with at least 5 years in EHS leadership position.
- Excellent knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and standards.
- Strong experience of implementation and development of occupational safety and health protection programs as well as in environmental management and environmental protection.
- Relevant experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams and project management know-how.
