Job Description
- Prepares the department’s budget and ensures procurement activities remain within the approved financial limits.
- Coordinates with the planning department to review and align materials requirement planning (MRP) with purchasing operations.
- Reviews approved procurement plans and develops execution schedules to fulfill internal requirements efficiently.
- Monitors the progress of procurement activities and ensures alignment with planned timelines; supervises the preparation of performance reports.
- Reviews and approves local purchase orders (LPOs) in line with company policies using the ERP system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX).
- Ensures all purchasing documentation is complete and compliant with local procurement regulations and internal procedures.
- Manages vendor negotiations to secure optimal pricing, quality, and terms.
- Ensures supplier compliance with contractual obligations and timely delivery of goods
- Maintains and updates a detailed supplier registry/database for all local vendors.
- Reviews payment requests for local suppliers and ensures documentation (inspection reports, delivery notes, etc.) is complete before coordinating with Finance for timely disbursements.
- Oversees procurement-related tendering processes and ensures specifications are clearly defined and evaluation processes are transparent and compliant.
- Coordinates with warehouse teams to ensure proper receipt, inspection, and storage of purchased items.
- Prepares regular procurement reports and KPIs, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Solid knowledge of local procurement laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
