Job Description
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular reports on key financial metrics.
2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
3. Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor and control expenses, identify areas of cost savings, and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
- Conduct variance analysis to assess budgetary performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
4. Financial Operations and Systems:
- Implement and maintain robust financial systems, processes, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize financial systems and automate financial processes where possible.
5. Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for daily operations and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor cash flow projections and develop strategies to optimize working capital and minimize financial risks.
- Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to facilitate banking transactions and secure appropriate financing when needed.
6. Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
- Conduct financial analysis on business initiatives, capital investments, and pricing strategies to assess profitability and return on investment.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making and drive business growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate business proposals and assess their financial feasibility.
7. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration within the finance department.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and alignment of financial goals and objectives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and accounting roles,
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software applications.
- Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems.
