Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable High School Math Teacher to deliver high-quality, engaging online instruction in Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and other upper-level math courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of mathematics content and pedagogy, a deep understanding of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for mathematics, and the ability to make abstract concepts accessible and meaningful to diverse learners in a virtual environment.

The teacher will also incorporate Islamic values and worldview, nurturing students to see mathematics as a reflection of Allah’s precision, balance, and design in the universe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver effective virtual lessons aligned with Common Core math standards and school benchmarks.
  • Use real-world applications and mathematical modeling to promote critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Integrate Islamic principles and ethical considerations where appropriate (e.g., fairness in finance, balance in creation).
  • Assess student progress through various methods and provide regular, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a supportive and organized online classroom environment using digital platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support academic success.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including ELL and students with learning differences.
  • Actively participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school community initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field (required)
  • Valid U.S. teaching certification in secondary Mathematics (preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Education or Mathematics (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching high school math, including courses such as Algebra I & II, Geometry, or Pre-Calculus (preferred)
  • Experience teaching in an online or blended learning environment (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for high school mathematics
  • Strong pedagogical skills and ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
  • Proficiency with online teaching tools (e.g., Zoom, Class, Canvas, Desmos, GeoGebra, etc.)
  • Ability to design and deliver rigorous, real-world, and engaging math lessons virtually
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Character & Values:

  • Familiarity with Islamic worldview and values, or willingness to integrate them respectfully into instruction
  • Demonstrates Islamic character, professionalism, and a growth mindset
  • Passion for working with high school students and supporting their academic and spiritual development
