Job Description
- Coordinate and manage the procurement process for civil engineering materials, equipment, and services in alignment with project requirements and timelines.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability to ensure optimal sourcing decisions.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to secure favorable agreements and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to forecast material needs and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
- Prepare and maintain accurate procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier records.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities relevant to civil engineering projects.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.
- Assist in resolving procurement-related issues, such as delivery delays, quality concerns, or invoice discrepancies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing procurement processes and recommending enhancements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Up to 1 year of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within the civil engineering or construction industry.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement management software.
- Understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in civil procurement.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Willingness to work onsite and travel to project locations as required.
