Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and politically aware Social Media Specialist to manage the digital presence of a political figure or campaign. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English, have a deep understanding of current political issues, and know how to create engaging content that informs, inspires, and mobilizes the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute social media strategies to increase visibility, engagement, and public support.
- Create compelling content (posts, videos, reels, stories) aligned with political messaging and campaign goals.
- Monitor news, trends, and public sentiment to ensure timely and relevant responses.
- Manage all major social media platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, etc.).
- Coordinate with speechwriters, PR teams, and campaign staff for consistent messaging.
- Handle public engagement — responding to comments, messages, and questions appropriately.
- Track and report social media analytics and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Manage and optimize paid ad campaigns to reach key voter demographics.
- Assist with crisis communication and reputation management online.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience managing social media for a political campaign, public figure, or NGO.
- Strong understanding of political landscapes, current events, and public discourse.
- Creative, fast-thinking, and able to manage sensitive topics with diplomacy.
- Proficient in tools like Meta Business Suite, Canva, Hootsuite, and video editing apps.
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during campaigns or breaking news.
