Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our warehouse and ensure the efficient management of goods, personnel, and processes. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of products, maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing best practices to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee and manage all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and dispatching.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of products to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and enforce operational procedures for incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and storage of materials.
- Monitor warehouse performance and implement corrective actions to meet productivity and efficiency targets.
- Inventory Control & Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure regular cycle counts are conducted.
- Implement inventory control systems to prevent stock discrepancies, shortages, or excesses.
- Ensure timely replenishment of stock based on demand forecasts.
- Develop strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce holding costs.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, supervise, and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring they meet performance targets and comply with company policies.
- Provide regular training and development opportunities to improve staff skills and productivity.
- Manage staff schedules and assign tasks to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
- Foster a positive work environment by addressing staff concerns and encouraging teamwork.
- Health, Safety, & Compliance
- Ensure the warehouse operates in compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
- Investigate and address any incidents or near misses, implementing preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, audits, and compliance with relevant industry standards.
- Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Continuously review and improve warehouse workflows, layout, and processes to increase efficiency.
- Implement lean methodologies and best practices to minimize waste and reduce operational costs.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, logistics, project management ….etc) to streamline supply chain processes.
- Vendor & Supplier Management
- When needed, build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries and cost-effective services.
- Negotiate contracts with shipping providers and third-party vendors to optimize shipping costs and services.
- Budget & Financial Management
- Develop and manage the warehouse budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare financial reports related to warehouse operations, such as cost analysis, inventory valuation, and loss prevention.
- Technology & Systems Management
- Oversee the implementation and use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ensure data accuracy.
- Leverage technology (e.g., RFID, barcode scanning) to improve inventory tracking and warehouse efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT and logistics teams to ensure all technological infrastructure is up-to-date and functional.
Job Requirements
Key Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience managing large-scale warehouse operations, including leadership and process optimization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Certifications: Certification in Warehouse Management, Lean Six Sigma, or related certifications is preferred.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop a team, driving performance and maintaining high morale.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise across departments and manage vendor relationships.
