Job Description
1. Map Design:
Create topographic, thematic, environmental, network, and other types of maps.
Prepare cartographic elements and symbols (legend, scale, title, coordinate grid, etc.).
2. Geographic Data Analysis and Processing:
Audit and format spatial and descriptive data as needed.
Ensure data accuracy and suitability for mapping purposes.
3. Digital and Printed Map Production:
Prepare maps for printing at various sizes and resolutions.
Produce maps in multiple file formats (PDF, PNG, GeoTIFF, Shapefile, etc.).
4. Map Data Management:
Organize and maintain geographic databases and map projects.
Periodically update maps and datasets.
5. Technical Collaboration:
Coordinate with GIS analysts, planners, engineers, and others.
Understand user requirements and translate them into practical, effective maps.
6. Quality and Standards Assurance:
Apply national or international cartographic standards in map production.
Conduct visual and spatial quality reviews before delivering outputs.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Surveying, or a related field.
2 to 5 years of experience in map production or geographic information systems.
