Job Description
- Administer the implementation of database systems through all IT infrastructure and platforms.
- Assure the highest level of database availability and maintain the data integrity, security, and best database performance.
- Responsible for the team's configuration and maintenance of various technologies (Oracle Real Application Cluster “RAC,” Grid, ASM, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Golden Gate).
- Customer-facing for all operational issues and activities.
- Configuring and troubleshooting physical standby database using data guard broker.
- Enhance the Database Performance to assure using the server resources most effectively and efficiently.
- Continuous revisiting and enhancing the different backup and recovery strategies, assuring the best data recovery time.
- Administer Oracle Database Server Backup and Recovery using the RMAN. Responsible for conducting regular IT database preventive maintenance & support services to all systems.
- Responsible for maintaining all IT databases under support contracts.
- Responsible for data recovery in case of emergency.
- Monitor and ensure the database is available to minimize unplanned downtime significantly.
- Prepare and revisit HLD and LLD & documentation to support database setup based on the technology used.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT Computer Science or a related degree.
- Oracle Certified Associate or Professional (OCA or OCP) preferred.
- Having oracle RAC certification will be added advantage.
- Min three years of experience in Oracle database administration with advanced setup, design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Installation and upgrade of Oracle and RAC on 11g versions under UNIX platforms.
- Experience in Oracle database administration, database maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Experience in Oracle high availability solution “Multi-Node Real Application Cluster – RAC,” Grid, and ASM administration.
- Experience in Oracle Database Performance tuning experience and SQL tuning, including I/O, Load Analysis, ADDR, AWR, SQL Profiling, etc.
- Experience in Oracle replication solutions “Oracle Data Guard. “
- Knowledge of using Oracle Golden Gate is a plus.
- Experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager OEM setup, configuration, and building metrics.
- Experience managing Oracle Backup and Recovery using the RMAN with all needed policies.
- Experience in Oracle Database installations, migrations, and patch sets updates.
- Good scripting skills to automate regular DBA admin tasks.
- Experience in using UNIX OS.
- Very Good Knowledge and understanding of SQL/PLSQL.
- Very Good knowledge of Linux OS.
- Provide the highest level of database availability through implementing & maintaining highly available solutions (Oracle Real Application Cluster, Grid, ASM, Data Guard, and Golden Gate).
- Maintain data integrity and database migrations across platforms, providing the best database performance.
- To maintain online backup and recovery function that supports the best data recovery time.
It would be considered a plus
- Experience in Enterprise Firms.
- Good knowledge of engineered systems (Oracle Exadata) is a plus.
- Good understanding of core support processes and change management, maintain documentation standards.
