Job Description

  • This role is responsible for monitoring, controlling and examining the financial performance of the projects in relation to budget for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations and ensuring proper reporting is issued on a timely basis with necessary corrective action taken to avoid financial loss.

Technical Duties

  • Responsible for the determination of values through the Contract and Subcontract Cost Control Logs
  • Responsible for providing feedback on Contracts and Subcontracts rates, and providing general feedback on the performance of Subcontractors in order to determine whether or not they should be approached to providing their offers for future tenders.
  • Responsible for finding discrepancies between SPECs, DWGs & contract provisions
  • Responsible for preparing cash flow (including cumulative cash flow or Financial S-curve) whether or not it is required by the Client.
  • Responsible for assigning a Cost Centre code
  • Responsible for monitoring the change in the Contract and Subcontract values for the running projects using the CVT and the SVT sheets (Contract and Subcontract values to be kept updated on a weekly basis)
  • Supporting in the changes report and if this will impact the program and/or the cost in close coordination with the relevant department (this step is repeated at any time we receive a new design or a design change from the consultant)
  • Supporting the status of cost and time performance of the project and  any prospect issues to be raised with the Client or subcontractors regarding claims and variations in cost, design, specifications, scope of works, time schedule, to relevant disciplines.
  • This step is repeated all over the project duration.
  • Close follow up and tacking of project invoices to ensure payment is received by the company
  • Reviewing detailed Procurement Plan in close coordination with the OP.
  • Reviewing Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports and also identifying potential claims and effect of unplanned events on time and cost.

Job Requirements

Minimum Required Education

  • Bachelor in Engineering, Construction Management

Minimum Required Professional Experience Years

  • 7+ years of experience gained within a cost control position

Language Proficiency 

  • Arabic: Mother Tongue
  • English: Fluency

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good attention to detail with high importance placed on accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to motivate and coach direct line report/s to ensure their potential is fulfilled.
  • Quality focused.
  • Evidence of an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Professional Knowledge

  • Professional knowledge in Construction, earned methods, and applications
  • Primavera 6 is a plus
  • Knowledge in related governmental laws and legislations
