Job Summary:

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, analysis, and supervision of public infrastructure projects in Kano State, including buildings, bridges, culverts, and other load-bearing structures. The role involves ensuring structural integrity, safety compliance, and quality assurance across government construction and rehabilitation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze structural elements for government projects (buildings, bridges, etc.).
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Conduct structural assessments of existing public infrastructure.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with structural design and safety standards.
• Evaluate construction materials and ensure they meet Nigerian and international quality standards.
• Collaborate with architects, quantity surveyors, and other engineers to deliver integrated project designs.
• Inspect ongoing and completed projects for structural compliance and durability.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing contract documents, BOQs, and technical reports.
• Support procurement processes by advising on technical specifications and supplier evaluation.
• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes (e.g., Nigerian Building Code, BS, Eurocodes).
• Provide technical input for policy formulation related to infrastructure planning and safety.
