Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated IT Specialist to be the cornerstone of our company's technology infrastructure. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining the reliability, integrity, and performance of our network, hardware, and software systems. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a broad technical skill set and a passion for providing exceptional support.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
1. Network Infrastructure Management:
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance to ensure system availability, reliability, and capacity.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including VPNs, to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, and hotfixes.
2. Hardware Support & Performance:
• Provide comprehensive support for all end-user hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Manage and maintain server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues promptly, performing repairs or coordinating with vendors for replacements.
• Manage hardware inventory and asset lifecycle, from procurement to disposal.
3. Software Application Support & Maintenance:
• Install, configure, and update essential business software applications, including the Microsoft Office 365 suite.
• Administer and maintain security software, such as Sophos Endpoint Protection, ensuring all systems are protected against malware and threats.
• Utilize remote support tools like AnyDesk to provide efficient assistance to on-site and remote users.
• Troubleshoot software issues and provide user training and guidance to enhance productivity.
4. Remote Work & Outsourcing Support:
• Facilitate and support a secure and effective remote work environment for staff.
• Provide technical support to remote employees, ensuring they have seamless access to necessary resources and applications.
• Liaise with and provide support oversight for any outsourced IT services or third-party vendors.
• Document processes and create user guides for remote access and common troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
• Proven experience (5 years) as an IT Specialist, System Administrator, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
• Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting for PCs, laptops, and servers.
• Proficiency in supporting Windows OS and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Experience with security software (e.g., Sophos, Kaspersky, McAfee) and remote desktop tools (e.g., Any Desk, TeamViewer).
• Solid understanding of remote access technologies and VPNs.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are a plus.
