In this Job Family, roles are responsible for deploying, migrating and managing infrastructure services.
Individuals in these positions possess the capability to manage various versions of Linux and Container Platforms.
The Linux Engineer is tasked with leading administration, and support of mission-critical Linux environments hosted on physical, virtual, and hybrid platforms.
The Container Engineer supports the deployment, management, and monitoring of container platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
They ensure operational readiness, patching, and automation for containerized workloads across environments
This role encompasses lifecycle management, performance tuning, and automation of operating system-related processes to ensure stability and high availability.
Key focus areas include automation, security measures, and continuous system optimization.
Responsibilities
Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals, and kernel tuning
Experience with Ansible, Puppet or similar automation tools
Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware) and hybrid infrastructure
Awareness of CIS hardening, log forwarding, and SIEM integration
Proficient in security compliance standards and OS-level auditing
Experience in setting up Linux Centralized management tool (RedHat Satellite/SUSE Manager)
Operate and maintain container runtimes and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Manage Helm charts, container image pipelines, and ingress configurations
Implement role-based access control and security configurations
Manage persistence storage volume in Container platform
Assist with CI/CD integration and environment automation
Monitor and tune container performance using Prometheus/Grafana
Required Skills
Experience with container technologies (Docker, Podman, K8s)
Familiarity with YAML, Helm, and GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD)
Understanding of networking, volumes, and secrets in containerized environments
Manage signed certificates within container platform
Knowledge of basic authentication methods (Active Directory, LDAP)
Backup and restore vital data in container platform
Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals and kernel tuning
Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware) and hybrid infrastructure
Awareness of CIS hardening, log forwarding, and SIEM integration and Proficient in security compliance standards and OS-level auditing

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Typically, 4+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 1+ years in a similar role
Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis
Proficiencies in data analysis and technical knowledge
A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology
Other Qualifications
An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
Relevant certifications, such as Linux / Container Certifications
