Library Officer

Coordinates all activities having to do with the library’s system and electronic resources. Works closely with library staff to manage training for users. Maintain Library Information Systems. Solve technical problems and recommend solutions to library management. Provides reference services at the Reference Desk. Maintain Librarys Integrated System including Circulation rules, Cataloging, holdings, and administer acquisition, and configure the Library Portal. Monitor system performance, including troubleshoot problems and ensure their solution, test new functionality and system upgrades Activate, troubleshoot, and maintain access to library’s electronic resources Gather and report statistics and data from library systems Develop Library content Manage RFID Systems, self-check stations, security gates Interpret needs and create appropriate working software solutions according to library needs Work a flexible schedule Work in a team-based, cooperative environment Train and advise users in general usage and operation of library systems Other duties related to the library not specified here but that may be required as circumstances dictate RequirementsEducation:Holder of bachelor’s degree in library studiesBusiness/ information technology/ computer sciences from a reputable University.Skills:Experience handling administrative duties efficiently and effectively Effective oral and written communication skills Commitment to working with and encouraging diversity Effective interpersonal skills Effective organization and administrative skills Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving abilities. Languages & Computer Knowledge:Proficiency in both English and Arabic is preferred. Knowledge Microsoft Office.
