As an IT sales professional, you'll usually work remotely with commercial clients, finding the right technological services from our catalogue as listed on our website along with SaaS products to suit their business needs.In pre-sales, this may involve demonstrating features of a particular SaaS product.ResponsibilitiesAs an IT sales professional, you'll need to:speak to customers, either face to face or over the phonegain an understanding of customers' specific business needs and apply service or product knowledge to meet themcarry out cold-calling in order to create interest in products and services, generate new business leads and arrange meetingsidentify and develop new business through networking and follow-up courtesy callsprepare and deliver presentations and demonstrations of our service descriptions or SaaS products to customersdevelop effective sales plans using sales methodologymeet sales targets set by managers and contribute to team targetsmanage workload in order to organise and prioritise daily and weekly goalscontribute to team or progress meetings to update and inform colleaguesSalaryStarting salaries for IT Sales Professionals in Africa is $300 with room for growth to up to $1000 per month.Working hoursOur working hours are typically 9am to 5pm UK time, putting in extra hours where approaching deadlines require them.QualificationsThis area of work requires a degree in one of the following subjects:business information systems or technologybusiness managementcomputer science, software engineering or computer engineeringsales and marketingHaving a retail background can help you get into this position as well.SkillsYou'll need to show evidence of the following:a good level of technical understanding, with enthusiasm for new technology and its commercial uses - though having technical skills before you start isn't essentialself-motivation and a competitive, results-driven attitudepassion, dedication and focusstamina, resilience and the ability to work well under pressureconfident presentation skills and a professional telephone mannertime-management skills and the ability to prioritise your workloadability to pay attention to detailarticulate, persuasive and influential verbal communication skillsability to work well in teamsbusiness awarenessWork ExperienceExperience of a customer service or sales environment will improve your chances of securing this job. We will be particularly impressed if you can demonstrate evidence of exceeding sales targets and the ability to build successful customer relationships in previous roles.
