Job Description

Ali Al Salem Airbase, Al Jahra, KuwaitThe Electrical Engineer will research, develop, design, test, and evaluate electrical components, equipment, and systems, applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Designs, and may direct engineering personnel in, fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products. Living and working conditions are remote and uncomfortable. Expect a 60-hour work week, exposure to extreme weather, and hazardous worksite conditions. May be required to move on short notice under adverse conditions.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms design work for new construction, renovations and improvement projects for real property facilitiesInterpret, adapt traditional methods while developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standardsResponsible for select construction inspections, quality control and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managersDevelop cost estimates and time schedulesReview and analyze preliminary and final designs, plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacyPrepare necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets and status reports and prepares final construction drawings suitable for obtaining qualified bids from ContractorsCreate presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project executionMonitor and manage projects for new construction, renovations and improvements to real property facilities, utilizing a professional knowledge of engineeringResponsible for the correct and efficient execution of assigned work involving the installation, removal, inspection, maintenance and repair of all electrical systems, distribution systems and fixturesSupervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the assembly, installation and repair of electrical cables, systems power distribution systems, distribution panels, inspectionsDesigns, and may direct engineering personnel in, fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.Secure the cooperation of other crafts/trades supervisorsMay perform maintenance and repair work, at timesComply with health, safety and environmental rules and proceduresPerform work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environmentPerform other qualified duties as assignedExperience & QualificationsUndergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education is requiredSix to nine years of electrical design engineering experienceCapable of complete design and investigative services including electric power distribution networks, power load determination, exterior electric, interior electric, fire alarm systems, airfield, and site lightingShould have had experience in controls systems designsPreference will be given to individuals who have worked on US Government and Military domestic and international projectsMust be proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD 2012 or later and have experience with power system analysis softwareMay be required to move on short notice and under adverse conditionsExcellent communications, effective leadership and interpersonal skillsCapable of complete design services including electric power distribution networks, power load determination, exterior electric, interior electric, and site lightingWorking knowledge of Design Review, Project Mobilization, Quality Compliance, QA, Safety, Project Controls, and Capture ManagementProficient in AutoCAD 2012 or laterExperience in the use of documents relating to the development of projects, contracting, and construction is necessaryComputer literate, Microsoft Office 365 Suite and MS ProjectMust be a US CitizenCurrent US Passport requiredMust have an active US Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance requiredMust be able to travel domestically and internationallyMust pass a Fit-for-Duty Physical ExaminationAIM World Services, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
