Sunmarke School, Dubai is one of our flagship schools, located at a prime location in Jumeirah Village Triangle.About you:Due to the expansion of the existing leadership structure in Secondary in August 2024, we are looking to appoint an experienced and inspirational educational leader to the position of Assistant Head of Secondary - Pastoral team to build upon the school's achievements and successes and move it forward in its next phase of development.The Assistant Headteacher of Secondary - Pastoral will work in partnership with the Head of Secondary, and the Secondary Leadership team to promote the care and well-being of students, staff and support a wide range of pastoral programmes. This position will also work closely with the Heads of Year to ensure outstanding levels of pastoral care and professional leadership of the pastoral teams. This will require the effective use of resources within the school, the ability to understand and motivate the different pastoral teams while striving to continually improve the attendance, standards, and achievements of all pupils.The successful candidate will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching and be passionate about student well-being. The role will involve liaising and working with several key stakeholders throughout the school and regular contact and communication with parents.The successful candidate would be classroom-based but with a very generous amount of non-contact time, within their teaching timetable.If you think you have got what it takes for this role, then Sunmarke School may be just the challenge for you.We are looking for certain qualities:· The Assistant Headteacher should hold as a minimum, a B.Ed. or B.A & PGCE / PGDE or equivalent. Tertiary qualifications such as NPQSL is desirable but not essential.Outstanding Leader with a minimum of 3-5 years of middle leadership experience in a Secondary phase with a proven track record of school improvement; improving teaching and raising standards in a demanding environment.A commitment to deliver on the educational vision for the school and work along with the Head of Secondary & the Secondary Leadership team to shape the school’s strategic direction in leading the school on its journey to outstanding.A creative practitioner and a highly effective leader who leads by example and can inspire and motivate & develop excellence in others through coaching and mentoringBuild and develop highly effective teams, organisational structures and academic processes with an ability to delegate work and support colleagues in undertaking their responsibilities.
