Engineering Supervisor

Role PurposeResponsible for supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs for a manufacturing facility. Provide professional, technical problem solving and administrative coordination of EHS programs, policies, and regulations. Lead the development and implementation of projects related to EHS regulatory compliance programs.Job Accountabilities & Activities Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, site procedure development, and updates, routine and non-routine activities such as environmental impact assessments of site(s) projects or process changes. Interface with regulatory agencies, prepare required documentation, schedule any required testing, and provide additional follow-up documentation as required. Lead and participate in environmental audits and coordinate external party environmental audits. Act as site(s) representative during audits by or other interactions with federal and state environmental agencies and respond to requests or notifications from environmental agencies. Conduct Risk Assessments (EHS, Job Hazard, PPE, etc) to characterize chemical, physical, and biological risks at the facility. Conduct EHS reviews/assessments on new/modified equipment, processes, and layouts. Proactively identifies potential EHS hazards through risk assessments, Gemba walks, inspections, etc., and ensures timely corrective actions are implemented when hazards are identified. Lead and/or participate in investigation of environmental incidents, implement system improvements to reduce potential for future events, and record environmental deviations in the EHS Management System. Review and coordinate EHS incident, Near mess and safety observation investigation/follow-up Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance (Air, Water, Waste, etc.) Direct management oversite of Waste Water Treatment operation and compliance. Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Monitor, track and report out sustainable metrics data. REPORT & VERIFY environmental/sustainability metrics into Benchmark ESG Sustainability Reporting: Energy (Fuel and Electricity), Water, Wastewater, Waste, Production, Air Emissions & Refrigerants, Costs/Revenue: Energy costs, water costs, waste disposal, costs, waste recycling revenue). Report, track and maintain the site EHS KPIs Co-ordinate/conduct the implementation for EHS trainings as required Conduct EHS & Sustainability meetings Supervise EHS operational permits, licenses, LOTO, Confined Space, etc. Build and review the facility profile and repository for key facility information, including licenses, permits, authorizations etc. Ensure readiness of fire alarm firefighting systems and take immediate necessary actions Control inventory and monitor compliance for PPE. Supervise laundry and janitorial team for completing their duties and review their logbooks.Education & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering or similar technical degree, required.Required Years Of Experience5 years’ experience in operation with 2 years at least in EHS role.
