Senior Accountant - Financial Planning & Budgeting

Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or relevant field (with equivalency by the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education)Minimum of 10 years of experience in the same or related field.Proficient in English and Arabic.Key Accountabilities:Support in the preparation of the Section’s annual budget by collecting all approved costs and expenditures. Monitor the performance of activities to ensure they adhere to the approved annual budget for costs and expenditures. Support the Unit Head – FP&B in the development of annual financial planning framework by analyzing historical financial data, recognizing recent organizational changes, market trends and providing valuable insights relevant to KFAS’s environment and industry.Assist in developing and implementing the financial control framework and processes across KFAS. Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of budget forms, financial planning templates and guidelines for the overall integration, consolidation, and finalization of annual financial process.Collaborate with other Divisions, Directorates, Sections, and Units to obtain the filled budgetary templates in a timely manner and ensure that the received documents comply with the latest financial plan guidelines and formats.Support the Unit Head – FP&B in documenting budgetary needs including justifications/clarifications for any major changes in the budgeted expenses and activities.Participate in budget meetings, record any raised concerns, and help Unit Head – FP&B in answering said concerns by providing valuable insights.Ensure calendar dates are shared and clearly outlined in communications with other Divisions and Directorates. Perform periodic financial planning analysis, forecasting, trend analysis as required based on the requirements of KFAS and provide feedback and guidance as needed. Assist the Unit Head - FP&B in integrating financial planning with KFAS’s annual budgets and financial target performance.Inform the Unit Head – FP&B of any major observations in the expenditures or shortages and obtain additional insights.Support the Unit Head – FP&B in the compilation of the annual master budget of KFAS upon confirming the finalized budget forms.Provide coaching and guidance to Officers Accountants in tasks and activities to ensure that the quality of work meets the expected standard.
