Senior Design Specialist

Ali Al Salem Airbase, KuwaitProvides design services to an engineering or project team. Performs and checks most types of calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual design techniques. Provides design assistance to the Lead Engineer, as requested, in the areas of schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, activities etc. Performs all or some of the following: organize/plan jobs, write/review specifications, prepares/maintains schedules, develops/monitors estimates and Client forecasts, assign work, works with project/client/field, material procurement, permits, and subcontract activities. Utilizes vendor data and works with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs. Performs a squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines. Living and working conditions are remote and uncomfortable. Expect a 60-hour work week, exposure to extreme weather, and hazardous worksite conditions. May be required to move on short notice under adverse conditions.Duties and Responsibilities Prepare required reports for management review and assist managers with administrative actions required, including data entryPrepare detailed finished drawings from engineering concept sketches, existing redlined drawings, and schematicsUse Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE), use surveying equipment such as a theodolite, geodimeter, and Trimble GPS Rover, and create topographical maps.Perform other qualified duties as assignedExperience & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperienced working with:AutoCADAutoCAD Civil 3DVisual BasicBuilding information modeling (BIM) softwareMust have experience working with architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical designs, must be knowledgeable of engineering tables, plans, and specifications, and must have working knowledge of computer networksAbility to create architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil design drawings using AutoCAD, and knowledgeable in engineering tables, plans, and specificationsExcellent communications, effective leadership and interpersonal skillsComputer literate using Microsoft Office and ProjectAbility to fluently read, write, speak, and understand EnglishAbility to become familiar with the local culture and customs and to conduct themselves accordinglyAdditional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignmentExperience in the use of documents relating to the development of projects, contracting, and construction is necessaryComputer literate, Microsoft Office 365 Suite and MS ProjectMust be a US CitizenCurrent US Passport requiredMust have an active US Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance requiredMust be able to travel domestically and internationallyMust pass a Fit-for-Duty Physical ExaminationAIM World Services, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
