We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.Job DescriptionWhat you'll DoReporting to the Head of Programme Delivery Middle East and Asia, the Aviation Programme Manager is responsible for leading projects to deliver aviation connectivity products and services based on Inmarsat’s Ka-band Global Xpress (GX), L-band Swift Broadband and S-band EAN solutions.Working with regional airline clients, partner and supplier organisations and internal teams he or she will ensure a structured and disciplined delivery according to industry standard project and programme methods and protocols.The day-to-dayLeading the delivery of aviation projects for GX, L-Band and EAN servicesCustomer focal point for project implementation, delivery and acceptanceManaging aircraft modification and embodiment projects liaising with airline engineering departments, MROs and Part 21 Design and Production OrganisationsManaging system integration and service delivery projects liaising with aircraft OEMs, tier 1 suppliers, IFE providers and ISPsLeading and coordinating internal project teams within a matrix managed environmentFinancial control, budget management and resource forecasting of assigned projectsPresenting project progress and status to customer steering committees and at internal review boardsDefinition and scoping of projects ensuring alignment of objectives and benefits with key stakeholdersDevelopment of project plans and management of risks and issuesCoordinating change impact assessments and controlling impacts on scopeQualificationsWhat you'll NeedExcellent inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders at all levelsExcellent project management skills with the ability to run multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent planning, forecasting and reporting skillsRisk identification, control and mitigation planningIssue management, problem solving and critical thinkingAbility to take the initiative to identify business or customer needs and drive the delivery of appropriate solutionsPrevious experience of managing aircraft modification and embodiment projectsAccustomed to working in cross-functional teams spread across multiple time-zonesProgramme / Project Management qualification(s), e.g. PRINCE2, APM PMQ and PMI PMPProficient in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel and Microsoft ProjectAvailable and willing to travel worldwide (COVID-19 situation dependent)What Will Help You On The JobKnowledge of the commercial aviation regulatory environment including EASA or FAA STC processesExperience working with IFC, IFE or other avionics OEMsGood understanding of software development and integration lifecyclesGood understanding of IP / broadband networks and internet technologiesKnowledge of satellite & cellular industryExperience supporting bids and pre-sales activitiesExperience in using JIRA & ConfluenceAdditional InformationYou must be eligible to work in this location advertised.EEO statementViasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
