Please note that this position is part of the Emiratisation Program, only UAE nationals can be considered.
Language requirements: Proficient in English.
At Eni, we are looking for a Senior Contract Engineer to join Eni Abu Dhabi.

You will be responsible for managing the procurement of work, materials and services in accordance with project procurement policies and procedures, ensuring that delivery, cost, quantity and quality requirements are met.

This includes drafting and reviewing contract strategies, final tender reports and contract award memoranda; preparing and evaluating tender packages; and finalising contract awards.

You will also conduct commercial evaluations and negotiate complex contractual terms and conditions, while contributing to the development of contracts and procurement strategies and tactics.

Business trips to operational sites and other subsidiaries in the region may be required.

Main Responsibilities

To prepare the contractual and commercial sections of the tender package and compile the full tender documentation.
To develop and analyse contract documentation, including reviewing and contributing to the contractual scope of work as per the requisition.
To ensure that contractual terms and conditions are defined in accordance with Company requirements and governance.
To draft contract requirements in compliance with all applicable laws and Company procurement policies and procedures.
To challenge purchase requisition requirements, offering alternatives and proposing solutions.
To conduct critical analysis, suggest revisions and contribute to the preparation of tender lists, contract strategies and tender evaluation plans.
To prepare unpriced and priced evaluation models for highly complex and major contracts.
To perform contractual and commercial evaluations, conduct necessary negotiations of received tenders, and formulate recommendations.
To draft relevant documents supporting the contracting strategy and award approvals.
To develop and propose contracting solutions, pursuing alternative methods to improve contracting practices (e.g.

risk/reward models, incentives, alliances), and comparing different purchasing options such as tendering versus single source, renting versus buying.
To demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline work processes, and collaborate effectively with other departments and Contracts & Procurement staff to deliver high-quality, seamless customer service.
To develop, compile and conduct pre-enquiries and market surveys.
To ensure confidentiality is maintained throughout the procurement process.
To manage all contracting phases in coordination with Contract Holder(s) and other relevant functions, as appropriate.
To ensure accurate data entry into the “E-Space” system for all ITTs, contracts, and amendments, in line with management instructions, including Local Content, and to provide weekly updates on workload.
To manage all activities in full compliance with the Company’s Code of Ethics.
To support approval requirements from the JOA and/or Project Procurement Policies and Procedures.

Skills And Experience Required

Educated to degree level, preferably in Law, Engineering or Economics.
A CIPS-type qualification is highly desirable.
Extensive experience in a similar role.
Previous experience working on high-complexity projects within the oil and gas sector.
Familiarity with international contract formats and complex corporate and project governance.
Knowledge of commodity markets and price trends, including various grades, qualities and types of materials, supplies and equipment.
Fluency in written and spoken English, particularly with regard to contract terminology.
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic will be considered an advantage.
High level of computer literacy and proven proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Project, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Prior knowledge of SAP MM and SRM modules is highly desirable.
Strong internal auditing and monitoring skills.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to identify negotiable elements in line with company objectives.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, with frequent interaction across project disciplines and external institutions.
High performance orientation with strong attention to detail.
High level of professional and personal integrity.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently when required.
Strong capability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Job Requirements

Candidates should have a degree in Law, Engineering, or Economics, along with extensive experience in contract management within the oil and gas sector.
