Founded in 1867, the company today has around 22,000 employees, sales of € 5.5 billion and locations in over 60 countries worldwide and is thus one of the larger family-owned companies in Europe.Director Finance / Financial Manager Finance DepartmentPurpose of the Job: To manage and control day to day transactional accounting systems, processes, and procedure in compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and statutory regulations, ensuring that all journal entries are checked, processed and reconciled on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.Primary duties:Controlling and consolidating the VTZA financial planning, financial management, financial accounting and board reporting functionsEnsuring that professional financial management and accounting policies and systems are developed, implemented and controlled in support of strategic objectives and in compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and statutory regulations.Oversee the management and control of the VTZA assets register ensuring that the value of all current, fixed and intangible assets is accounted for.Oversee the VTZA financial planning and budgeting process.Collate, analyze, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and management reports for the VTZA managing board, as well as for Head Office in compliance with IFRS.Establish, oversee, and control the day-to-day transactional accounting structures, systems and processes to ensure that all financial transactions are processed and allocated correctly and on time in line with best practice.Ensure that critical risk assessment models (e.g. credit, currency & exchange rate risk), critical risk indicators, as well as risk management controls are developed, implemented and managed on a daily basis to minimize risk exposure.Develop, implement and maintain an effective management and cost accounting platform (ERP system) for the business to support and improve management decision making.Establish and monitor compliance reporting structures, policies, and controls to ensure compliance with IAS, IFRS, statutory and regulatory requirements.Calculate and post general provisions.Fixed asset accounting, perform impairment test on intangible assets and tangible assets.Finance and controlling manual maintenance.Perform period end closing.Conduct period end financial and tax reportingConduct periodic internal auditing includes inventory management.Oversee the management and control of the VTZA assets register ensuring that the value of all current, fixed and intangible assets (cash, stock, inventories, property rights, buildings and equipment) is accounted forEstablish and monitor compliance reporting structures, policies and controls to ensure compliance with IAS, IFRS, and statutory and regulatory requirements.Administer the VTZA IT requirements and processes.Planning, implementation and coordination of activities linked to security in line with the ISMS catalogueRecruit, oversee, develop and retain a professional finance team and office support team.Competencies Leadership skillsAnalytical skillsGood at probing facts, challenges, and assumptionsObservant and detailed orientatedCritical problem-solving skills.Numerical abilityMethodical, organised, precise and accurate.Excellent written and interpersonal communication skillsSocially confidentResilientResourcefulHard working and ability to work under pressure.Results orientated.Team orientated.Good Listening Skills And Ability To Understand Customer Requirements.Ideal qualifications, experience and knowledge B Compt Degree or Equivalent, Ideal qualification is Honours DegreeThree years as a financial manager, preferably in an engineering environmentAdvanced MS Office (Word & Excel)Experience in ERP system, preferably NavisionKnowledge of accounting principles, accounting policies, processes, procedures,Statutory and regulatory rulesKnowledge of business and credit risk management principlesKnowledgeable on debt management system
