About The JobPlans and coordinates the Primary distillation & Hydro-process Team in the Process Engineering Department to serve as the centralized source of expertise while ensuring compliance with ADNOC Refining strategies commitments and goals. Coordinates with other functions, providing high-level technical guidance to Technical Authorities (TA) Level 2 and 3, delegate jobs to TA-3’s based on their functional expertise and skills, lead in technical investigations and studies.Act as interface with external agencies viz. OEM, Vendors, Licensors to resolve issues escalated from TA-3’s. Leads the existing and anticipated operational problems, analyses trends, tracks performance to provide appropriate recommendations to Operations. Ensure company technical, HSE and other relevant standards are followed for Projects/studies. Ensures technical support for Primary Distillation & Hydro-processing Operating Units, supporting the Operations team and also the long-term improvement / asset development plans including Minor and Major Projects.Key AccountabilitiesDirects, Supervises and controls the activities of Assigned personnel including allocating work and determining priorities.Performs supervisory functions and exercises functional/authority at Team Leader level as established by the Technical Authority FrameworkPlans, manages and controls all the Team functions and assigned units’ operations in coordination with other support functions, utilizing technical, managerial and problem solving skills along with specialized engineering knowledge and operational experience.Ensure that the Teams activities are budgeted, planned and implemented to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operations at optimum cost with highly motivated and competent team.Ensures technical support and maintain maximum unit production, plant utilization and the production of quality products as per Company specifications while ensuring Profitability and 100 % HSE.Directs and guides implementation of new techniques, methods, processes and products to improve productivity, reliability and overall safety of the facilities. Define resource needs, gaps and training needs to deploy, operate and maintain such new technologiesLead or participate (as required) in the preliminary investigation and studies of incidents, failures or deficiencies to identify the root causes and provide recommendation of remedial actions to avoid recurrence.Participates and/or supervises the Section's participation in review of Data sheets, Technical documents, Design Basis, PFD,P&ID, HAZOP etc. during Pre-FEED,FEED and EPC Stage of new Projects as and when required.Participates in audits and benchmarking studies to improve competitiveness and profitability of the assigned units as and when required.Advises and arranges assistance with identifying and correcting chronic plant problems.Approves the Performance Guarantee Test Run (PGTR) for new projects and ensures a close liaison with Process Licensors.Evaluates the economics of alternative materials and methods, including chemicals and catalysts to optimise cycle costs.Troubleshoots plant operational problems and recommends solutions to the Operations as and when needed.Monitors catalyst deactivation rates and evaluates the cycle length. Monitor the plans for catalyst/ process consumables replacement, budgeting and procurement.Reviews the performance of equipment and ensures that technical assistance is provided for trouble free operation when necessary.Evaluates and recommends proposals for plant modification or improvement. Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.At least 10 years’ experience in Refinery plant operations & Technical services function out of which 8+ years of experience in a Refinery Process Engineering & Technical Services related to CrudeDistillation/Vacuum Distillation along with Hydrotreater and Hydrocracker is desired.Exposure to multi-engineering disciplines and experience in operations, maintenance and projects functions with strategic thinking and analytical skills.22367
