Job Title: Head of Accounting & Finance
Department: Finance
Reporting To: CEO / Managing Director / Board of Directors

Job Summary:
The Head of Accounting & Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining financial controls, planning budgets, and managing cash flow. This role plays a strategic part in driving the company's financial direction and supporting executive decision-making with sound financial insight.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
Prepare long-term financial forecasts and scenario planning.
Advise executive leadership on investment opportunities, risk, and funding strategies.
2. Accounting Operations
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, payroll, and taxation.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
Monitor and enforce internal controls and compliance with financial policies.
3. Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and present financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
Analyze financial performance and variances; deliver reports and recommendations to senior management.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
4. Budgeting & Cost Control
Lead annual budgeting process and monitor budget adherence.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and improve profitability.
Monitor project and departmental expenses, ensuring accountability and efficiency.
5. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Monitor and manage company cash flow, liquidity, and capital requirements.
Optimize banking relationships and manage financing facilities.
Ensure timely payments and manage credit risks.
6. Taxation & Compliance
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, corporate tax filings, and VAT.
Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and external consultants.
Maintain updated knowledge of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments.
7. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and build team capacity.
Foster a culture of integrity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus)
CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, budgeting techniques, and financial forecasting
Experience in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo) and advanced Excel skills
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Fluent in [English/Arabic or other required languages]
