Job Description
- Analysis designs and drafting of structural engineering works for the Company's projects. Supervision of work assigned to Junior Engineers.
- Reports to Project Manager or Principal Engineer nominated by Department Manager, for implementing specific structural work in accordance with the work program of the project.
- Prepares designs, drawings, contract documents feasibility reports, financial appraisals, scheme approval, estimates, etc...efficiently.
- Represents client in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts and verifies that they follow current codes and standards
- Administers construction contracts and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans
- Prepares operating and maintenance manuals, studies, and reports
- Directs activities of junior Structural Engineers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents and provides necessary support and/or advice
- Liaises as directed with consulting engineers, architects and other discipline and/or contractors on all matters necessary for the implementation of the work program of the project.
- May use computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
- The above mentioned duties are to be performed taking into consideration the implementation of environmental as well as health and safety requirement (Procedures & Work Instructions), as applicable.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural Engineering
- Membership of professional body/bodies in Egypt and/or elsewhere
- Seven years related experience
- Knowledge of: Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) applications and capable of producing drawings using AutoCAD, Engineering practices and Company procedures, Arabic and English languages fluency.
- Ability to: plan, organize, assign, prioritize, and delegate work of self and others; design and prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for building projects; communicate orally and in writing; coordinate work of self and others to meet milestones and deadlines; establish and maintain effective relationships with subordinates, colleagues, customer departments and contractors.
