Job Description
The Cost Accountant at Mr. Tailor is responsible for managing and analyzing the company’s financial performance by tracking, allocating, and controlling costs related to production, inventory, and operations. Key duties include:
- Analyzing material, labor, and overhead costs associated with the fashion retail process.
- Preparing detailed cost reports and forecasts to support budgeting and pricing decisions.
- Monitoring inventory levels, ensuring accurate valuations, and assessing cost variances.
- Conducting margin analysis and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborating with procurement, production, and finance teams to streamline cost management processes.
- Prepare budgeting reports (for the company and for each department)
- Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts
Job Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
- BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant study
